Power Supply

Power Supply

Power supply layout is as important as any other design consideration and correct layout techniques are critical to achieving optimal performance of the power supply.

We have an expert understanding of AC and DC parasitics, grounding and cooling that makes a successful design. We have the capability to undertake even the most demanding designs from linear designs to high efficiency switching mode designs.

PFC (Power Factor Correction)

Power Factor Correction is the term given to a technology that has been used since the turn of the 20th century to restore Power Factor to as close to unity as is economically possible.

Typically Power Factor Correction is achieved by the addition of capacitors to the electrical network, which compensate for the Reactive Power demand of the inductive load and thus reduce the burden on the supply.

At e-5d our design engineers work diligently to reduce the reactive power within your design which can lead to the following benefits:

  • Power consumption reduced
  • Electrical energy efficiency improved
  • Voltage drop reductions in long cables
